A Tribute to Roberto C. Jimena

Roberto (Bert) C. Jimena
He moved for creation of Cannery Site as barangay
This is a picture taken a few days before his death when he ran again
as a barangay captain of Cannery Site but died before election time.

Roberto Coronado Jimena or Bert as his friends call him came to Cannery Site with nothing in his name. Cannery Site was not yet a barangay then but an annexed sitio of barangay poblacion.  It was a biggest sitio, Dole Philippines factory being here.

Bert was an adventurer, principled, and knows what he wants in life. He knows the political psychology of his constituents.  He ran as purok president then and became a federated purok president.  It was then that he worked for the creation of cannery Site to become a barangay.  In short a plebiscite was held and on September 1, 1991 Cannery Site became a formal barangay.

It was his people-oriented approach that endeared him to his constituents and by this development was realized in Barangay Cannery Site. People see what progress and development he had left for the people of Cannery Site. A tribute to him.
