Rule No. 2: MANNER OF APPREHENDING- Don not attract public attention. Do not use handcuffs unless absolutely necessary. Do not inflict injury on the child. |
Rule No. 3: SPEAKING TO THE CHILD Speak in a language/dialect understood by the child. Tell the child the reason why you apprehend him/her. |
Rule No. 4: PROTECTING THE CHILD Do not expose the child to the media. Do not expose the child to any party familiar with the case Protect the child from possible public humiliation or outrage. |
Rule No. 5: DOCUMENTING THE INCIDENT Accomplish the intake form and secure necessary information from the child. |
Rule No. 6: PROHIBITION AGAINST LOCK-UP Do not lock up the child in a police cell. |
Rule No. 7: CICL IN THE COMPANY OF ADULT OFFENDER For cases involving 15 years old and under who committed offense in complicity with or in company of an adult/s, guardian/s, stranger/s, etc. refer to the Police Station for filing of the appropriate case against the adult. (CICL means Children In Conflict with the Law.) |
